This is the my recent suit of armor that I’ve made myself, and I am intending it to be my last. This armor is entirely hand stitched, sewing a thick plate of leather onto a relatively thick piece of soft leather underneath. The plates were sewn to each other, then to the soft leather, then hemmed on the edge using thick thick nylon thread. Each of the spinal plates are riveted with copper rivets with an extra strip of soft leather going do the length of the piece so that there is little chance of the plates from coming off. From there, since straps tend to wear out on armor, I replaced it all with large stainless steel marine grade grommets, along with 750 lb paracord that can be easily replaced or adjusted on a moments noticed. The grommets also serve to give me the full ability to adjust the sizing (I’m hoping for smaller, but odds are the chest will have to go larger as I.. erm.. expand?). The entire set of armor is crazy thick, heavy, and riddled with redundant designs… but that’s exactly as I had wanted.. silly indestructible armor.
